Rooms for Hire
The Hall may be hired for meetings or private parties. The larger room (12.3m x 4.86m) has a small removable stage at one end and a bi-fold hatch leading to the bar at the other. The room height of 3.5m is more than sufficient for most events. The room is well lit and heated by radiators. The entire facility is protected by a state of the art Fire Detection and Alarm system that is also conected to a fire proof shutter in the kitchen
The second, smaller room (2.6m x 4.7m ) has recently been sub divided into a kitchen and a food serving / prep area. It too is well lit and heated by radiators and has a room height of 2.6m.
The kitchen contains fully fitted Stainless Steel kitchen Work Surfaces, A double Oven Cooker, A Commercial Dishwasher capable of washing a 20 plate load in under 3 min, 3 Hostess Trollies, a large Fridge and a similar sized Freezer, , a Micro Wave Oven, 3 large water boilers, 3 Kettles and sufficient Crockery, Cutlery, Grassware and serving utensils to cater for 70+ guests and 3 courses.
We also have a Skittle Alley, which is avalible at a small additional price.
Outside Space & Bar
We have 8 dedicated parking spaces oposite the hall , close to the entrance to Wulfric Avenue.
To the rear of the hall is a large recently developed courtyard and community garden comprising an 8mX6m paved area and a 6mx6m astroturf area, this is accessible throught the rear fire door which has a sill and steps. However disability access is provided by an asphalt path that runs from the access ramp at the front of the building and around the building to the rear area where a small ramps conects it to the level, paved area. It would be possible to erect a customer-supplied marquee on this area. However, flooring would be required and the prior agreement of the committee must be sought.
We have recently converted a store room into a bar area that is conected to the courtyard by a sliding window Serving Hatch Window. Within the Bar we have 2 fridges, a small freezer, a dual temperature wine cooler and a single drainner sink as well as sufficient glassware for 50+ guests.
NB. hirers are free to use this facility but if wishing to sell alcohol must obtain their own Temporary Events Notice from North Warks BC
Kitchen & Crockery
We have added a new purpose built kitchen which has been kitted out with commercial stainless steel furniture. It has 2 work surfaces, a drainer sink with hot and cold water, two fridges, a microwave, ordinary household kettles, and two water boilers. In addition there is a twin oven cooker and a commercial dishwasher capable of washing a full load in 3 minutes. Saucepans and other cooking utensils are provided. A number of white cupboards contain tableware, in addition the entrance foyer contains a number of white cupboards on its end wall containing tableware, crockery and cutlery which can be hired by prior agreement, if required. There are numerous items, sufficient to provide a meal or buffet for 40- 50 people.
The Hall has general waste and green waste bins located by the front door. As we do not have a bin for paper, plastic, glass, or metal cans, you are welcome to put these in the waste bin. However we do find that many of our users prefer take such items home and recycle them, to avoid them ending up in landfill.
Tables & Seating
The hall has 70 upholstered dining chairs There are 9 large rectangular folding tables that will each comfortably seat 6 (or 8 at a pinch) and 16 square tables that will each comfortably seat 4. 8 of these square tables can be used in the courtyard if required, we also have 48 plastic chairs available for outside use.
Audio Visual & WiFi
To bring sparkle to your events we can supply bunting and fairy lights.
The Hall also has a digital projector and stand and wall mounted, pull down screen. We also have a DVD player and a Sound Bar Speaker System as well as a CD/MP3 player . Together, these will allow you to include Vidio as part of your event. We also have a WiFi system with a separate guest log-on facility.
Accessibility
The site is fully accessible with a shallow, ramped, zig zag path with handrail. There are no internal or external sills in the main hall. The recently developed rear entertainment area is equally accessible. We also have an internal accessible toilet that meets all of the necessary accessibility requirements. The main toilet block has yet to be refurbished and still has sills and steps.
Fire & Health and Safety
The hall has a full fire alarm and fire detection system, which is linked to an automated shutter that seals the kitchen hatch in the event of a fire or smoke. The hall has 3 fire extinguishers and a fire blanket, which is located in the kitchen. In addition, we have 3 fire exits, all with emergency-exit lighting. In the event of a power failure there are emergency lights and an emergency lantern located on the principal room's rear wall next to the kitchen hatch. The fire evacuation assembly point is on the verge opposite the Hall.
Toilets
The main toilets are accessible via an internal corridor leading from the foyer. It is a unisex facility with a common hand-wash area, but with separate ladies and gents cubicles. We have a baby changing unit as part of the unisex foyer. The area is lit by motion sensor lights and has limited, ice stat heating. Unfortunately, the building design means that there are two steps between the hall and the toilet block, so it is not wheelchair friendly . However within the body of the Hall we now have a fully accessible purpose designed disability toilet which meets national standards for such facilities.
